Sunburn is a phenomenon in which the skin is altered by light.
It appears over time, and slowly fades away.But once it is marked, it never completely returns to what it was before.
Photography is also a process where an image is fixed by light,and continues to change over time.
What appears in the image is a moment that has already passed,something that cannot be touched anymore.
In this series, I focus on the subtle changes that remain on the surface of things exposed to light.
They are conditions that occur after exposure,slowly healing, and at the same time remaining as marks that never fully disappear.
“Sunburn” here is a kind of record inscribed by light,a process that keeps changing over time, and cannot be reversed.
日焼けは、光によって皮膚が変化し、時間をかけて現れ、やがて薄れていく現象である。
それは一度刻まれたあと、完全には元に戻らない。
写真もまた、光によって像が定着し、時間の経過とともに変化し続ける。
そこに写っているのは、すでに過ぎ去った瞬間であり、触れることのできない出来事である。
このシリーズでは、光にさらされたものの表面に残る、わずかな痛みや歪みに焦点を当てている。
それらは、露光されたあとに生じた「状態」であり、ゆっくりと癒えながら、同時に消えきることのない痕として残る。
SUNBURNとは、光によって刻まれた記録であり、時間とともに変質していく、不可逆なプロセスでもある。
